Granting sanction to prosecute social networking websites including facebook and google,the union government on friday said there was sufficient material to proceed against them for offences of promoting enemity between groups of people,"Doing acts prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony" and hosting content that is "provaocative, assertive and propagates prejudicial to national integration (sic)".The department of information technology placed its report before Delhi court, after which directed the ministry of external affairs to get summons served on over 10 companies that are based abroad, after summons issued on december 23 remin unserved.the matter has been listed to further hearing to March 13.
